- January 1975: TR7 launch in US
- May 1976: TR7 launch in rest of the world
- February 1977: First batch of pre-production TR7-V8 coupes, maybe 40 cars
- October 1977: Speke Strike
- Oct-Nov 1977: David Huddleson points out that the rest of TR7-V8 coupes were built at Speke during the strike, perhaps by management(!) or engineers
- March 1978: Speke production resumes
- May 1978: Speke closes
- October 1978: Production begins at Canley
- November 1978?: Production of TR8 coupe begins at Canley
- July 1979: TR7 convertible launched in US
- January 1980: European convertible TR7 launched
- March 1980: UK convertible TR7 launched
- March 1980: US TR8 press introduction
- June 1980: US convertible TR8 available
- Summer 1980: Production moving to Solihull
- August 1980: End of production at Canley
- August 1980: Production fully taken over by Solihull
- October 1981: Last day for production of TR7 and TR8
Last cars built
- TR7 - 408534 - now in British Motor Heritage museum
- TR8 - 408533 - exported to US, currently owned by Bob Tullius, Group 44 TR8 race driver
