UPDATE

Published: 22-may-98

I've done my homework and taken a closer look at the brakes. With the road wheel off, I measured what I could as Andreas Dittiger asked for. I have a picture of these measurements if anyone wants it sent (TIF 16kB, JPEG 40kB).

Anyway, the good stuff is that while looking carefully, I found the part number on the rim of the disc, "DBA-631-MB 19/6/96-MINTH 18MM-2N", obviously made by the company, Disc Brakes Australia, as Andrew McKenzie already suggested! Looking on the net, they have a home page at "www.dba.com.au" which advertises solid and vented discs.

The discs are two part construction, the inner hub section bolted to the flat disc rather than one part like the original TR7's. As for the calipers, Andreas Dittiger suggested a Volvo 240 up till 1978 (without engine B20 and B21). Joe Murawski suggested a Volvo 240 station wagon, 1975 to 1984.

The only mark on the calipers is ATE. I'll check the pads in a  catalogue when I get a chance. They are drilled slightly wide to fit the TR. The other modification I had to make was simply to flatten the disc shields as the discs are bigger diameter (or remove them altogether).
