Recently someone I think in Canada had a question about using a TR7 brake cylinder to replace a bad 1980 Rover SD1 brake cylinder.
Just a few notes....the 75-76 TR7 and the later TR8 brake cylinders have a bore of about .692 inches. The 77-81 TR7 have a bore diameter of .750 inches and the '80 SD1 has a bore of .875 inches. So, if you use anything but the SD1 cylinder, then brake effectiveness is reduced.

The good part is that all three cylinders have the same casting number(3221-627) and all they did was to make the bores different sizes...so, if you have access to a TR7-8 cylinder and can have a machine shop bore and hone it out to .875.......you are in business. Just note the position of the roll pin locator.
