Rear disc conversion ![]() |
This document is published with permission of the German TR7 IG. The article appeared in 7Times (clubmagazine) 2/97. ![]() When I read ads in 'Triumph World' and '7Times' it became clear to me. I wanted the rear disc conversion from S&S Preparations. The price of 699 GBP was within my budget. I send a fax to England. I wanted to collect the rear disc/axle myself and on day zero I went first to Rimmers (to collect a revised engine) and then to S&S. Unfortunately all the bits and pieces were there but I couldn't bring the stuff with me home! The kit wasn't prepared yet. So I agreed to send the stuff to Belgium within the next week. Installing the kit was very simple. ![]() I had luck, from another TR7 I took 13' Monza alu-wheels and they fitted nicely. With the first test drive the second problem appeared. The new rear axle wasn't exactly 'new'. Yes it was painted and assembled but not restored. ![]() So after many kilometers/miles in 1996 I must say that I'm a satisfied customer. I'm a bit sad because the rear axle isn't new, just rebuild with the same old pieces. ![]()
