Volvo brake conversion

My name is Alister Smith.

I bought the brake upgrade kit from a shop here in Adelaide called Triumph Rover Spares. The only information I have regarding the source of the parts is that they are from Volvo.

The only apparent modification was that the mounting holes on the calipers have been drilled slightly wider to fit the TR. The disc slipped straight on to the TR's hub and bolted on. Brake pipes were also supplied as the calipers have a slightly different thread.

Fitting was very straight forward. I had a local brake shop check them after I had fitted them as I was not quite confident of the bleed order for these things with three bleed valves per caliper.

Brake operation still requires a firm foot pressure but the stopping distance is considerably shorter and I have not yet seen any signs of fade which was a regular occurrence with the originals. When I have a chance I plan to look into upgrading the vaccum servo with an SD-1 unit.
