Diamond Springs, CA 95619

** NOT RECOMMENDED ** They have a good list of parts & conversions, but a bunch of people have had trouble with them and their parts. YMMV (comments from the big british cars vendor list).

Classic Auto Interiors
Kit Turnier
Buford Highway
Doraville, GA

Right next to Atlanta Imported Auto Parts. Inexpensive, high quality carpets that fit. These folks make TRF's "cheap" carpet sets, which are inexpensive but certainly not inferior. - Chris Kent Kantarjiev. My brother bought a carpet set from them a while back for his TR7. He had his choice of colors (besides OEM) and was very pleased with the fit, finish, and price. - Jim TenCate.

Mountjoys Auto
301-779-0003
MD

Says they are a Moss distributor (they use Moss catalogs), but they seem to source most of the stuff on their own. - Dean Zywicki. Mountjoys (same outfit?) is mentioned in early TR8 Car Club newsletters. Does anyone know if they still have TR8 parts?

Special Interest Car Parts
1340 Hartford Avenue
Johnston, R.I. 02919

They have a lot of original TR7 and 8 parts some of them at super low prices. -Fred Smith. I had been wondering how Special Interest Car parts can offer such great sale prices (the buyer for the local brit. car place wonders also.) Now I think I know. Once you buy something, that's it. I bought two MGB front suspension kits and one of the king pins is defective. The only way to return something is with a UPS call tag. So, I call up SIC to do the return. The first day the sales people can't get through to the customer service person (yes, one person). So I leave a message. No call back. The next day same thing. Yesterday, four calls, four messages, same thing. Today, two calls and the customer service person has left and won't be back at her desk until Monday, it's only 2:00. How can a company that does the volume of business they do, only have one person doing customer service? I guess if they never take any returns, then they can sell stuff cheaper. -Dean_Zywicki. Special Interest sent me a manifold for a 77 or later Midget but I have a 1975. As near as I can tell the ports and the flange to the exhaust system are the same but the EGR is located on the top of the manifold instead of on the bottom front. I paid SI $200 for this one and they won't refund my money. Apparently they only give credits! -John Loucks.

Probably the most comprehensive stock of Triumph parts in the country, reasonably good prices and excellent service. The service was better when they were smaller. I have nothing but good things to say about Charles & Co. This is my vendor of choice for new TR & MG parts! - Phil Ethier. Call them for the best TR7 and TR8 catalogs in the business. Great diagrams and a good supplement to the Factory Workshop manual. I always buy from them first, even if the prices are a little better elsewhere. - Jim TenCate

British Leyland spares. Is also a good source of racing lore, especially for Triumphs; they (Ted Schumacher) did much of the sub-contracted engineering work for the factory race teams (Kastner and Group 44). They have an ongoing interest in TR8s for competition. - Chris Kent Kantarjiev. Ted is hardly a new vendor to the folks on this list, but he is a good guy. :-} He shows up @ VTR just about every year, recognizes the motorheads, and is perfectly willing to recommend how you should spend your money! I don't buy much from him, but if I ever needed SD-1 parts, he's the first place I'd call. TR-8 engine bits as well. He's owned and raced some incredible cars, including some of the Group 44 cars. An admirable bench racer, Ted is. - R.M. Bownes III.

West Michigan Imports
Duane Bailey
4073 Remembrance Road, NW
Grand Rapids, MI 49504
616-878-5774

I kinda hesitate to put Duane down in this list for fear that he might get sold out of all his neat TR8 stuff. Duane used to be a member of the TR8 Car Club and quit during the late 1980s when the club fell on hard times; I'm not sure if he's rejoined. Duane owns a nice Platinum 1980 TR8 like mine (except carb'd). Duane works on british cars of all sorts in the Grand Rapids area (mostly TRs and Jags as John Twist has all the MG trade) and also races an SCCA Spitfire. He's very good and is the only one I'd let work on my TR7 and the only mechanic who's allowed to touch my TR8. Pity he doesn't move to New Mexico. He always short-handed though so getting work done on your car can take a while. Yes, Duane can get TR7 and TR8 parts for prices somewhat less than TRF. He also has some peculiar parts (e.g., return spring for the clutch slave cylinder) that can't be had anywhere. Tell him I referred you should you call him looking for parts.-Jim TenCate

Woody Cooper's Wedge Shop
45 First Street
Rayham, Mass 02767
508-880-5448

Woody is the Technical Advisor for the Wedge Clubs (TR8 and TR7 CCAs) and works on, restores, sells parts, and generally gives great advice to wedge owners. Call him if you've got a question or part you'd like to get (TR8 water pumps for example). Really. Woody is the first person you should call about your Wedge problems. -Jim TenCate.

Victoria British
(aka Vickie Brit, VB, Sunbeam Spares)

Lenexa, KS 66215
Orders: 800-255-0088 or 913 541-8500

Very few comments to make about this outfit. I prefer TRF but sometimes they don't have what I need and VB does. The customer service is OK too but their return policy is nothing like TRF's. They also have some neat aftermarket gizmos for your wedge that you won't find elsewhere. Ask for a free catalog.- Jim TenCate
