I've contacted many for pricing -- was always more than I was willing to pay. Then it dawned on me "how stupid, you own a TR7 parts car and it's got 7 inch head lights." I don't know how many times I looked at the Triumph without the "Lights" going on. The light assembles are a fit. All I did is drill the four pop rivets out of the Triumph adapter and I had all but the chrome Jag rings in hand. Better yet the leads were the exact length required and the same color. I just pulled the new leads in with the old ones and plugged them in -- 2 hours max. Those of you who made the switch are absolutely correct the front end looks right now -- pictures don't do it justice.” - Lew Plummer

Instrument Cluster – Printed Circuit
|
Application: TR7/8 Triumph Part #: Other Part #’s: Other Vehicles: References: Wedge e-mail list Comments: “The wiring connectors in the harness behind the dash were probably revised through the years to move wires around to different spots and the printed circuit stayed the same until 1981. I went home and dug out the Parts Catalogs. It is in fact the "push-button" instrument panel dash that has a different printed circuit board. So, anyone wanting to change the printed circuit panel should be able to find that all from 1975-1980 model year will fit TR7 and TR8. The 1981 version (part # AEU1811) will directly work in 1981 models to end of production.” - David Huddleson

Windshield Wiper – Ragosine Listate Grease
|
Application: TR7/8 Triumph Part #: Other Part #’s: Other Vehicles: References: Various Web sites and forums. Google it and you’ll see. Comments: The manual specifies three different lubricants when rebuilding or reassembling the Windshield wiper motor: Shell 41 oil, Molydbnum Disulphide & Ragosine Listate Grease. Unfortunately nobody in the world sells or knows where to get Ragosine Listate Grease. It's a product of a very old British refinery called the Ragosine Oil Company Ltd, now ROCOL. Rocol greases are now called Saphire and they don't list one as being a direct replacement.
It was a Lithium based extreme pressure grease for multipurpose automotive use with a high-melting point and high water resistant characteristics - same as Castrol LM or Shell Retinax A. The reason it's no longer available is it contained lead. Lucas would likely have started using a general purpose lithium grease as a replacement.
Other suggestions: “3-in-1” oil on the cable and White Lithium grease on the teflon gear.
“Rebuilt wiper motors I sold at NAPA usually had white lithium grease inside for the gears as it works well for both nylon and metal. It won't heat up and liquify, nor does it attract moisture.”
