OK, here are some basic statistics from the DOT. They're available on the web: 1997 fatalities nationwide: 1.7/100 million passenger miles. 1997 injuries nationwide: 134/100 million passenger miles. I didn't look further. Obviously, there are lots more accidents in which there is only property damage, but those statistics weren't supplied in the basic informatino section. I won't comment re any possible comparisons to Solo II accident rates. Draw your own conclusions. Jay  |
