I don't see why someone would have to run the 7.5" differential to use the
SVO rear discs.  I assume you are thinking of the "update/backdate as a
unit" portion of the rules, but it only mentions engines, transmissions,
and transaxles.  A differential/rear axle housing does not fall into any of
those categories, so I should be able to take any pieces which will bolt up
to my 8.8 housing, right?  
I'm not just nitpicking here, since I was planning on doing this backdate
on my '87 Mustang.  Please let me know if I've misinterpreted something.
