Hi,
I run my daily driver 86 Corvette convertible in SCCA B Street Prepared Solo
II/autocross. I run street prepared because I put on a free flow catalytic
converter (the old one was very legitimately bad) when I also put on a
cat-back exhaust. . .so I'm just barely over the line into BSP. I do ok but
have a long way to go before being really competitive.
I started back autocrossing last year after nearly 20 years. I realize that
I need more work than the car does, and I expect to take driving schools as
available.
The car has about 100K miles on it. I know that the convertibles are not as
stiff as the coupes, but I still want to run what I have. I also don't want
to run pure stock since I prefer modifications for the street. And it does
have a 700R4 automatic, unfortunately.
I still run street tires but intend to go to BFG GForce R1's shortly. I do
now have the SCCA manual but am still trying to interpret it. I would like
suggestions on what other modifications I should consider for BSP for this
car:
* Wheel size/brand/style (any light wheels out there?)
*  Tire size
*  Tire pressures
*  Wheel alignment specs
*  Suspension mods
*  Engine mods
*  Rear end ratio
* Any bolt-in nondestructive roll bar for tying down better seat belts.
*  Any thing else?
Thanks for any input,
Mark Noakes
