Heck, I just bring my driving shoes to grid with me and put them on once
it starts to get close to my heat. Then I wear my nice comfy runnig
shoes the rest of the day. Saves wear and tear on the driving shooes and
more importantly wear and tear on my feet and back. I probably wear mmy
driving shoes for about 45 minutes in an autocross day.

I don't think I could stand wearing them more than that. I once walked
the course in them in between heats (this years SD tour) and I felt it
the next day.
