Sentra with Type R type specs not in DS?

I just was reading the latest fastrack....

And I see the new Sentra SER has been re-classified to GS?

This car has 175ft/lbs of torque, and a LSD,
can someone with some clue on reality clue me in?  How does this car not fit
into the model of DS?

Or is it WRX protectionism?
