I don't have any numbers. I put the Holley carb on mine. When I hit the gas, it 
accelerates right away and much more strongly and smoothly than it did before. 
It is definitely a noticeable difference. It also idles better and runs better 
during warmup. The Motorcraft carb just wasn't very good. The manufacturers 
were having problems dealing with pollution controls in those days and 
sacrificed driveability to get lower emissions.

The Holley is a 2 barrel that bolts right on to the existing manifold. If you 
want to go to a new manifold and four barrel carb, I am sure it would be better 
yet. Don't go much higher than 650 cfm though or you will just be dumping in 
more gas than the engine can handle unless you make other mods.
