Are you going for concouse points? As far as finish, according to the concourse
rules the rear bumper is supposed to be DULL. I personally got nicked by this
one at one meet simply by waxing the bumper. It shined up real nice and cost
me! Your bumper may look semi-gloss or satin just from being wiped over the
years with a rag with wax on it.
For what it's worth, I'd go with a flex paint. IMHO, standard paint will flake
off with time and vibration.
I would love a second or third opinion on this one. 1628's rear bumper is
going in
for paint. I recall Terry informing me to go with a flat urathane bumper
paint.
However, my bumper that I was sure had never been painted looks semi gloss or
satin. Also, two paint pros have told me that I don't need flex agent on a
rigid
bumper. I have a Bricklin manual that called for flex agent.
I would be great to hear recommendations.
