Gary: The first sign of a bad u-joint is viberation in the drive line.
Take the 4 bolts loose on the rear flange and feel the joints, they
should move in all directions smoothly with no binding, roughness, or
excess slop. I got a new one at the local parts place, but I had to
take the old one in to match up.
