Thanks to all that responded, I compiled all the answers onto one paper and
will go down the list on Saturday, maybe Sunday.  Can someone tell me how to
wire the single wire alt to the two wire connection?  Which wire(s) go to
which?  Oh, the alternator is on the passenger side already.  The Z alt will
bolt up and connect up to the roadster connector, if I cut the rear mount
thingerwhitsit? Some good considerations here!
Today I got to drive the roadster to work, (Sean took  the Contour so he and
his buddies could go surfing after school) and it charged as long as I kept
above 2,000 rpm.  Even with the lights on, although only about 1 amp.  As soon
as I turned the fan on to defrost the windshield, it ran to discharge. It  also
hit about 13 amps charge with nothing on but the motor.  Will let you know how
it goes.
