Your P.O. is to be commended for the fair warning. After I bought my '66 1600 I
didn't name her "Loosey" just because she is red - her front end driveability
was all over the place during turns and bounces. The P.O. said he had all new
shocks installed and I thought that was a good thing. Until later when I looked
underneath and found no rubber bushings on the mounts, and the nuts were loose.
With all that free play the shocks were useless. Also mentioned were the new
tires. But the lug nuts were loose. Then there's the freshly rebuilt engine,
with a crack in the block that was bondo'ed over and painted... etc.

It may be that the P.O. was snookered by a shady mechanic. When someone says "it
has this new stuff installed" check it out yourself before taking their word for
it that it's better than the old stuff it replaced! (Lucky I caught the problems
in time, so I'm just grinning about it.)

Oh, if you stare at Victor enough you can see the halo over his head!
