Hello,
many have responded, and I thank you.
Still bugged through.
still have an overcharging situation.
It acts as though no regulator is in the system.

here is what I KNOW.
1 regulator is good
2 all grounds are good
3 battery is good
4 alternator puts out charge
5 at idle ammeter reads proper
6 as revs increase so does the reading on the ammmeter
7 wires going to regulator have good continuity.
8 the battery wire to the alt (white wire) reads a direct short to
ground, yet on my other car which charges fine, reads the same.
WHY IS THIS???
off the alt, the plug contains 4 unmarked yellow wires, yet the plug it
hooks up to has only 3 wires. HOW COME?

Sorry to be such a PITA, but this is baffling me.

the service manual is such a poor japanese translation it makes no
sense
and all the schematics I've found are designed to be read by ants with
microscopic vision.

I've read of the folks having trouble with the 1 wire GM alts and her
I got bunches!

hope someone can help,
Roman
