Chilly Roadstering

When I put my 2L away for the loooong cold winter here north of Chicago, I
put it in a heated(40-50 degree) garage. That is where I go to smoke my
pipe and watch ball games so I can yell and not scare the family.

Yesterday, I realized that, because of the excessive snow and cold so far,
I had not taken out the roadster for the normal warm-up drive. When I last
put it away, the top was down and it is too chilly to put it up for fear of
cracking the windows so it remains down. Even so, I figured since it was
one of those very cold bright days, and the date was 01/01/01, it was time
to take it out.

I bundled up and, in my parka, went for a 30-40 minute drive. I know most
of you understand how great it feels to use power oversteer on a country
road and how much it is missed during the winter. I really needed it
though.

Now, my neighbors and others on the road surely knew they were witnessing
the other kind of holiday fruitcake when seeing me, sans top, driving in 5
degree weather. My wife just slowly shakes her head and asks about the
contents of my pipe.

These are really great cars. What a blast. I can't wait till warm, 50
degree, weather.

By the way, what does it mean when my knuckles are still black?
