slave cylinder adjustment

List,
Does the slave cylinder adjustment just involve removing the spring and
then turning the slotted screw adjuster to allow for aprox 1/8" of
"wiggle", or do the nuts closest to the rubber boot have to be loosened?

Also can penetrating oil be used on the bleeder valve on the slave or
would that contaminate the cylinder or somehow get on the clutch?
Dumb questions probably but ....
