yes the team usa beat portugal in the first round of the tourney. there are
four teams in our pool, including these two plus korea (who just beat)
poland. portugal was the favored in our pool, having scored a record number
of goals in the qualifying rounds. we won 3 - 2, all of ours in the first
period, including one that bounced off the back of one of their defenders.
we also had one of our defenders hit it into our own goal. but the upset is
somewhat HUGE!
