The link you found is a very good option for you. Note that you will be
installing a larger alternator, designed to exceed the ratings of the white
alternator wire in the wiring harness. It also exceeds the rating of the 30 Amp
ammeter. Take care to make sure the V-belt is straight and not wearing the
pulley's off on one side or the other.
Many people who have installed this option, as I will when I need an alternator
or regulator, have chosen to install another high current wire, rated for 60
Amps, directly between the battery positive terminal and the alternator output.
Some keep the white hareness wire in parallel with this new wire in order to
keep some action on the dash ammeter. It will no longer be accurate, but it
will tell you when something fails in the charging system.
Some others work on moving the alternator to its original position on the RIGHT
side of the engine if the smog pump is out of the way. The reason for this move
is to get away from the heat of the exhaust manifold, which is hard on
everything around it. 67.5 models had the alternator mounted on the right side
of the block before the smog rules kicked in.
