After looking for maybe six months, we finally found a 240Z for Len (who was
always complaining about how little room there is to work under the hood of a
Roadster, let alone headroom when the top is up!) It's a '73 that some kind
PO converted to early SU carbs (unfortunately they also removed the smog
equipment; in AZ the car will have to pass emissions.)
Roadster content; we tried again to install the new single wire alternator and
ran smack into problems with the PO's wiring job. When the guy at the parts
store said I was in for a project, I seriously doubted he had THIS in mind!
It looks like we're darned close to at the very least rewiring the engine
compartment & dashboard, probably installing a new fuse box too. Time to
sacrifice something to the Roadster Powers That Be, I think!
