Fuel line

After running my 1600 for a while, I noticed that the fuel line running to the
SU carbs was getting a little hot, probably from the header.  So I was
wondering if anyone re-plumbed their fuel line with solid line (e.g.
aeroquip)? If so, what size fittings did you use?  What type hose?
Please let me know if you have a 1600?
