Hi all,

Does anyone have measurements for the ride height of a
1968 2000, with both stock springs and comp springs?
I am trying to decide on whether to put new stock or
comp springs on my car before I get my new wheels and
tires. I like the height the car is at now, except it
leans to the driver side at the rear. I wouldn't want
it higher and if I go too much lower I will have
trouble getting up my driveway. I am not sure if the
height I am at is from stock springs that have sagged
a lot or if I have comp springs on it that just need
to be replaced.

I looked up the ride height measurements in the Clymer
Manual, with the stock 5.60x14s (local tire dealer
says these are about 23.5" in diameter) being noted on
the drawing I got the specs from:

Height to headlight centerline = 650 mm
Height to front turn signal light centerline = 480 mm
Height to rear bottom tail light centerline = 520 mm
Height to rear top tail light centerline = 625 mm
Height to rear top reflector light centerline = 705 mm
Height to bottom of side frame member under doors =
180 mm

Based on those spec levels, my car is about 1-7/8" low
at the front, and about 1-1/4" to 1-5/8" low in the
rear. These numbers are adjusted to account for some
of my tires not being at the same 23.5" diameter -
which comes out to 10.75" from ground to centerline of
the hub for a loaded tire.

Could anyone with a 68-70 Roadster with fresh springs,
either stock or comp, please send me a few
measurements of your car, what tires you have on it?
You will need to tell me whether the tires are at the
correct inflation or send me the ground to hub center
distance. I know this is a bit complicated, but
that's an engineer for you! Hopefully we are all
going to learn something new through this!

Thanks everyone!

Scott.
