Hi All,
        Thanks for the many responses.  I have decided to not weld up the
tank and just make the trip on only one tank.  For everybody's info it seems
that the best way to weld up a tank is to start like you are going to seal
the inside. Clean with strong detergent, then use muriatic acid or a
commercial rust remover.  Then hook up a line from a car exhaust to the tank
and fill the tank with exhaust.  Wait till the tank is hot to the touch then
with the exhaust still being pumped in weld away.

$I responded to Daniel privately, forgot to go to the list.  Anyway, I've
$heard to fill the tank up with sand before welding to remove the air space.
$I've never done it myself, but have heard it works wells.  You'll still get
$the occasional snap, crackle and pop but no boom.
