One or more vendors sell dash fascia pieces in rosewood, carbon fiber, etc.

question: what are people doing with dashboards?  what was it originally;
what looks good?  anything to avoid? what have people done?  i saw one car
with the dash painted the same color as the car; another with a wonderful
faux wood paint job.
