Thread-topic: backroads tours, all takers
<< Can I do it in a '61 Comet or a '66 T-Bird convertible? >>

Abso-freakin-lutely you can. We have had Olds Toronado's, Jensen
Interceptors, a Caddy hearse, a Nash Metro with a faux huge blower inset into
the hood (and an A-series/auto combo singing along underneath it) and an early
60's Comet Caliente set-up as a tribute to the South African Rally car,
complete with handles on the trunklid for when the co-driver has to get out,
stand on the back bumper, hold the handles and "rock" to get out of deep
sand.

No really, these are all-comers kind of events, until they grow into
"applications being taken" due to the crowds, at which point a splinter group
starts one that is more irreverent, then it builds in attendance, starts
taking applications, lather rinse, repeat.

What has made one event very popular is one of the participants is an estate
attorney, and you can sell anything at an estate sale except booze, because
that requires a liquor license, so there are crates of old booze bottles for
"sampling" during happy hour. They are known as "the bar car" and take less
windy roads, go wine tasting during the day, and meet us at the destination.
Trouble brutha!

The more the merrier.

Fergus
