30 years later my '99 GMC still uses drum brakes on the rear wheels. They
stop the truck and the boat just fine.

With your 1969 you can explain to your confused neighbor he must be
thinking about the old single circuit hydraulics, pre-'68.

Proudly lift the hood and show your superior tandem master brake cylinder.

Oh and don't gloat too much when you wave bye bye down the driveway when
you see him.
