Rev limit? what rev limit?

        Update on the motor I zinged to about 12 or 13,000 at Road Atlanta last 
week:

        The only damage I found so far is that the starter clutch exploded. (it 
has a
weird little dog-clutch arrangement that turns the front of the crankshaft).
No bent or broken valves, no damage to valve lifters, no damage to the bottom
end.  I guess I don't need that rev limiter after all.
