Joe,
I have the same problem. I've been running very high (to me anyway)
temps at 225-230 degrees, filling the bottle almost full in a 15-20
minute session. I am boiling off a little coolant each session and the
TR3 runs a 4 LB cap. I did a pressure test and followed it up with a
gas test (checking for CO2 in the air above the coolant) and came up
without a problem. My engine cools down to 210 when it's not floored,
but what fun is that. I'm looking into an aluminum radiator, which they
say drops the temp 20 degrees all by itself. I'd like to solve the
underlying problem, then buy the $500 radiator. It's been staying right
around 100 degrees daily here in TX, and we race again 8/1/98. I'll be
playing some more with timing and mixture. Fingers crossed!

I am pushing coolant out to the overflow bottle and it does not return
to
the radiator on cool down.

Not boiling over, nor do I have a serious loss of coolant other than
some
splash. The bottle is usually ½ to ¾ full at the end of a session.

Do I need a new cap or is this evidence of a more insidious problem?
Brian,
please order me a new cap, in any case. Perhaps I should bring down for
a
pressure test?

What # pressure cap do the FOT run? Ours is currently a 7# cap.
