Ouch

My back hurts. Could have been from this morning, up on the ladder checking
out the motion detector floodlights, or fixing the sagging power line to the
garage. Could have been from bending over Racket, the Mark 1 Spit, down at
the shop while fussing about with the dynamo. I should just go ahead and get
a single wire alternator and be done with it for a while. Unfortunately the
back pain was already there when Pugs and I yanked out the many, many pounds
of iron that constitute the motor for his mid sixties Coupe DeVille, so I
guess I can't call his lawyers and demand to be kept in Triumphs until the day
I weakly gasp my last faint "Coventry." So it goes. It could be a *great*
tow vehicle for his Herald, honest, trust me!

Actually the back trouble may have started with the recent trip to the Great
Flat Spot. Four thousand and eighty two miles in twelve days and my right
shoulder still feels funny when I get behind the wheel. Mordy probably did
much more than that in his journey to BRIC, though when the time came to call
it a night he probably had more room to stretch out than I did in the Jeep.
Maybe I need to rethink my tow vehicle situation.

Next year's VTR meet may involve zero tow vehicles. I could end up driving a
Triumph the 2500+ miles to Maine and then back again. Or I could just jump on
a plane. We shall see. A TR7 with air conditioning and killer tunes could be
the ticket. More later.

You didn't hear this from me, but there is a chance the VTR meet for the year
2000 could be in some city in the northwest part of the US of A that has a name
just like the city that will host the 1999 convention. If a day at the race
track in this city to be named could be arranged, that would be Way Fetching
Cool. It would be great to see some West Coast cars at full chat!

I'm thinking of making the Palo Alto show in mid September, as well as getting
to Triumphest in October. Could be a busy fall!
