Joe,

My "home" club, VSCCA, is having a late-season event at Summit Point,
West Virginia, the weekend after Thanksgiving. Dates are 11/28-29/98.

This will be a VERY small, low-key event, probably 40 - 50 cars total.
We did it last year and had a ball -- weather will be cool, but what the
heck it's fun.

VSCCA has very strict eligibility rules for "normal" events, cutoff date
12/31/59, and only cars listed on their club list .....for this event we
will consider non-VSCCA cars and
non-member drivers.

Caveat is, they must be "APPROPRIATE" cars & drivers. A conservatively
prepared TR2/3 (skinny tires, mild engine) and driver with proper
vintage spirit would be welcome. I recall one TR3 last year
(Harkness?), and we had a couple Spitfires, too. They might consider a
mildly-prepared TR4. I would say that appropriate cars/drivers would be
those that turn laps around 1:40, or slower, at Summit. Need to be
licensed by a VMC-recognized club, and nobody on probation or
suspension.

If you know of some Triumph guys that fit the mold, and may be
interested, let them know & put them in touch with me. TR3 driver from
Bloomsburg, PA named David Spiwak comes to mind -- is he on your list?
Please use your judgement regarding this -- no killer TR8's. The club
will make the final determination on acceptable entries.

Summit Point is 60 miles west of Washington, DC, and about 150 mile
southeast of Pittsburgh PA. Convenient to MD, DE, PA, VA, and not bad
from NJ, OH, NY. Track is 2 miles, excellent layout for our cars, but
bumpy, "modest" amenities (read: club track), cheap hotels nearby.

Regards,
Mark
