Here it is, Memorial Day weekend in the States, those of you who remember
the Triumph dealer down the road introducing the fully modern TR4 might recall
this holiday was known as Decoration Day for quite some time. So I spent some
time decorating.

A while back I mentioned a trip to California to deliver a car. That scenario
didn't play out, so I spent the weekend here in Salt Lake City. And given that
I wasn't planning to be here, I spent some of the weekend actually working on
one of *my* cars, customers be damned!

Now, I am not stupid. Over the years, various educational institutions and the
teachers therein have commented that I have potential. A few hours of pencil
pushing and I end up with decent scores on various standardized tests. An
award here, scholarship there. Why is it, then, that when ready to shoot the
color coat with my recently acquired HVLP gun, I play around randomly with the
settings? Why not show a spark of intelligence and leave well enough alone?
Drat.

Oh well, in a few days the catalyzed (two pack) enamel will cure to the point
of being able to sand out the massive runs. Over the next week I'll work on
getting Killer "ready" for the June 6th event, and leave bodywork on my hapless
Mark 1 street ride alone for the moment. Sad to say, the proprieter of The Fat
Chance Garage will have to drive around town for a while in one of the ugliest
little Spitfires on the road today. Maybe if I pull my cap low over my face
and avoid eye contact, no one will know it's me. Yeah, right.

mjb.

ps: I was also playing with Pugs' digital camera, there may be photos to
document my cluelessness on a web site soon.
