If the Gel-Cels are being used today in regular production vehicles
(e.g. the Mazda) then how is such a low charge rate kept
under control in the event that an owner leaves the lights on
and the battery is discharged by a significant amount?
If the car with the "weakened" battery is then started, surly the
Mazda's charging system will charge at a rate greater than
0.5 to 1.0 amp.
Simply starting a car, especially in very cold weather, can
discharge a battery to the point where the typical charge
system will be operating at MAX output for at least several
minutes after the vehicle has been started.
