Hi FOTers - A 'scoop' for the FOT

I received a phone call 6 months ago from a German guy who had just bought
1960 Le Mans TR'S' twin cam '928 HP'. Before last November the car had not
seen the light of day for decades. He's completely rebuilt the car in
Germany and kept in touch with me throughout.

He phoned me yesterday to let me know the engine had been started, and he's
just phoned me today to tell me he's driven the car out of his garage and
round his drive - so a piece of Triumph racing history has been re-born -
fantastic.

EVEN BETTER he intends to bring the car over to England for the Goodwood
Festival in September, and he also intends to race it in the Isle of Man
Classic just after.

The car was driven in the 1960 Le Mans by Les Leston and the late Mike
Rothschild and I've got a photo of it crossing the line three abreast with
the other two cars (it was number 59 that year). This car was used as the
spare car for 1961. I've just started writing up this restoration and I'll
post a photo of the car to the FOT lists in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes

Paul
