Bill,
I am going to make a huge leap here and assume that yours adjust the same as
the ones on my Spitfire. So here's what the SPAX leaflet
says:

"The struts/inserts are set at minimum. When adjusting, turn the adjuster knob
clockwise to increase the damping rate. Clicks will be
felt (minimum 10 clicks) before a resistance to turn any further. Turning
anti-clockwise from any setting will reduce the damping
rate. Make sure the left and right units have the same settings.

There is no 'correct' position for the adjuster to be set to. Setting depends
upon your vehicle and your own preferences. It is
recommended that the dampers be first run at minimum and gradually increased
until the most desirable setting is found."

There you have it!

Regards,
Joe
