Ok which is the better stock connecting rod to use for a GT-6 engine that is
being built for race . I have a set of perfect rods that came out of a 72
Gt-6 . They do not have the relief hole drilled . I have lightened and
polished per the Truimph tune manual plus a couple of other hints. I also
have a set of late model Spit. connecting rods that I have started as a
spare set . They have the reilief hole. I have two guys that I respect
greatly telling me that one kind is bad to use and one kind is good to use .
Unfortuately their opinions do not agree . One says the early rods are no
good and the other guy says the late model rods break . I need more opinions
before I go any farther . Take in mind I do not have the money to buy
aftermarket race rods . I have to use what I have.
Any and all opinions welcome as long as I do not have buy new rods.
