Greetings FOT,
While this has no relation to anything Triumph it is of interest to
vintage racers and car people in general. It can't hurt to have eyes all
over the country looking either.

Thanks all,
Bill

The race cars of Jim Lynch, who recently passed away, have been stolen.
A
trailer with both cars in it was taken, perhaps without even knowing that
there were cars in trailer. At any rate, the following email from Pete
Kittredge gives some details on the cars. Pete's email contained
pictures
but those aren't included here in the interest of keeping the file sizes
of
this email (to all RMVR email list) small. If you would like to see the
pics, please "reply" and let me know. I'll send you Pete's Word.doc that
also contains the pics.

Thanks for your help.

[Message from Pete Kittredge]
Between 21 October and 6 November a 24 ft. white Haulmark trailer was
stolen
in Westminster. In it were 2 vintage racecars. This trailer can be
identified by mild hail damage to the sides and has an unusual = door on
the
left side just infront of the axles. VIN# 16HGB2426RH021683. Colorado tag
#
J-085959
1972 PBS Mark 8 "D" Sportsracer. Polished aluminum body, black fenders,
polished billet aluminum 13" wheels. The motor is a Fiat A-112 Block #
100GC
with a PBS 8 port head. The gearbox is a Webster 5 speed with cracks in
the
bellhousing. The car carries RMVR # 713 in black panels on the sides and
the
name "Lil $ucker".

1960 Fiat 600, (Abarth 1000 OT) This car is fitted with an unusual roll
cage
in that the cross piece is inside the front/rear hoops instead of joining
them. Fitted with an Abarth style nosepiece and rear fender flares. The
rear
decklid is propped horizontal. The motor is a Fiat 998cc "850" with a PBS
8
port head and 3 piece PBS oil pan. It has a Fiat 850 gearbox, so it is
one
of only 3 600 cars in the US that rotate CCW. VIN# 681226. The car is off
white with purple accents including the RMVR # 713 DS on the sides,
checkerboard roof and Abarth scorpion on the hood.
