If anyone wants to try their hand at vintage rallying, here's a good place to
do it.

Great Race will run a 3 day race out of Granbury, Texas (36 miles south west
of Ft. Worth on Lake Granbury) with driving and navigations schools for
novices. It's open to any year or model car. There's entertainment and food
for the entry fee, too. All the big racers run it, so you get to run with the
big boys, but you compete against the other novices for trophies.

For a race weekend it's affordable too. Get your entry in before Feb. 15 and
registration is $275, and the local event hotels go for about $52/night.

GR Texas will run on March 14-17, with tech on the 14th. Go on line at
greatrace.com and click on "Texas". Come on out and join Team Scrappy for all
the fun! Janet can't make this one, so the navigator will be Guy McDorr from
the '49 VW team. Wait 'til he gets in the TR and experiences what horsepower
is all about... will he be happy in the bug again?
