I followed the ancient theories from years ago and fabricated two heavy,
crude traction rods myself. I used schedule 80 pipe with an ID just large
enough for 1/2" rod ends to fit inside. I then welded right and left handed
lug nuts on each end so that the tension could be adjusted by loosening jam
nuts and turning the rods. With just a small amount of tension on each rod,
the drive shaft is straight between the transmission and differential when my
ancient TR-3 weight is on the wheels.
This is not a good design for the Super Stars. It is heavy and might give
some under steer.
