Subject: TR7 autocrosser, IT car?

I've come into possession of a '76 TR7 and I don't know what to do with it.
It's an exceptionally clean rustfree Texas car with only 31,000 miles on it.
Unfortunately, it was in a flood many years ago and has been parked nearly
20 years so I don't know what the condition of the engine, etc. is yet.
Even more unfortunate, it's a coupe. However, I'm thinking that it might be
a fun and inexpensive stock class autocrosser or maybe even an IT car, and
here in Florida a roof overhead and AC (if it'll work again) can be pretty
attractive in the summer months.

I know practically nothing about TR7s and am wondering if anyone on the list
is campaigning one in either autocross or IT and could tell me whether it
could be competitive in either place. More importantly maybe, are there any
really weak points that create serious problems under competitive
conditions? Thanks, Don
