This is just an uneducated guess, but said guess is that the cautions we
might apply running in an engine intended for full-bore competition is
perhaps more than that necessary for a car expected to be a highway cruiser.

Does Porsche deliver their latest Le Mans entry or Ferrari their latest F1
car that way? Probably not, but then those engines will have been run-in by
experts, not by Horst or Guido on the end of the production line whose job
is only to drive the (street) car out of the assembly building over to the
inventory lot.
