Joe,
Thanks for your interest. I would believe the 4/32 option would be the
better choice, especially if there were any possibility of rain. (We have
not scheduled any!) If the tires are treaded, either should be okay, but the
4/32 tread might cause less angst, especially on a wet surface. I do hope
you attend, it will be great to have everyone get together and I am sure
we'll have to set up some Triumph gathering of the shameless. Before you
spend the dollars I will be glad to confirm with the VARAC tech team the
option you select will be okay with them. Certainly not looking for anyone
to have a surprise at the track after a long trip.

Russ Moore

Henry, being an SCCA type a treaded tire means probably something
different than to you vintage racers. Any idea what they would
consider a "Treaded Tire". To me the Hoosier R3SO3 DOT road race
tires are treaded, albeit with very very little tread. How about the
Kuhmo DOT Road race tires with 4/32 tread - would they count? I would
likely need to buy tires to participate in this, but would like to do
it once, and would like something that I could get some other use out
of. I doubt that I would get much use out of a true vintage tire, but
something like a Kuhmo, I could maybe use as an intermediate rain
tire. Joe(B)
