A roadster is an open car that they fit a top and side curtains on. A
drop head is a closed car with a top (head) that drops down, a fixed
head is a closed car. What brought this home to me was the interior
of the XK series cars. If you look at an OTS (Open Two Seater, the
roadster) and compare it to the DHC, the drop head's interior is
much more elaborate, primarily because it's a FHC with a
convertible top. The roadster is the true open car.
