Not to be stubborn or anything like that (well, maybe a little) the
vinyl covering came with the Mk2 Spitfires. Because I wanted to be
absolutely sure on this point, I looked it up in the John Thomason Book,
Triumph Spitfire and GT6, A guide to Originality".
That said, I have seen Mk1 Spits that have vinyl covered windshield
frames. And I know in at least one case it was not original to the car.
