Good morning Amici,
I'm soliciting opinions on using a copper head gasket on the recessed block
of the GT6. I don't want to shave the block to get the smooth deck so I'm
pondering the effects on the copper gasket if I use it.
I see two possibilities, either fill the recesses with an insert of some kind
or leave them and just slap the gasket over them.
Ideally, I'd like some copper or steel rings to place in the recesses to
bridge the gap and act like an O-ringed head. If I do that, how much taller
than the recesses should they be?
If I ignore them I'll leave an unsupported edge to the copper gasket which I
assume will burn back over time.

Anybody care to express an opinion?

Thanks in advance,
Steve in Las Vegas
