Exactly right.  Although "dual format" systems do exist, they are quite
expensive and fairly rare in the US.  Takes not only a special VCR, but a
special television as well.

Last time I asked, I found a local shop that would do a single VHS for $20.
But they don't seem to be there anymore ...
