Amen. When in doubt, change the coil. I know it sounds primitive and
unscientific, but it's fifteen bucks and five minutes. The coils at your
local discount parts dealer are generally excellent.

Susan and Brad:

   Are you absolutely sure it's fuel starvation? I fought what I though was
the same problem for a full season before I discovered that the problem was
a bad coil. The problem manifested itself as a tendency to start running
rough late in the session, then as being hard to start. Turns out the PO had
left the coil mounted on the block and the heat was killing it. It also
eventually fried my Pertronix unit. As Butch Bohunk says: "Make sure your
******* sparks are in order before you start messing with the carburetion".
