Listers,

Today I received a notice of litigation against several compressor
companies,
concerning false claims of advertised horsepower. Most of us knew that
these
companies were lying through their teeth about the rated horsepower, but
what
choice did we have as four companies make practically all of the retail
compressors that are available. The four companies are Campbell Hausfield,
Devilbliss, Ingersal Rand, and Powermate who also private label their
products for
Craftsman, Husky, Delta, etc.. The litigation is still pending but should
wrap
up by the end of the year.

Basically, if you have bought a compressor between August 1,1996 and January

30, 2004, you are probably entitled to a $50.00 gift certificate for an air
tool manufactured by the offending company. It's not much, but is a
considerable ruling against these companies considering the number of
compressors sold
during that time period.

To make a claim go to the following web site, and follow the instructions.

I personally have a 6? HP Campbell Hausefield that I am satisfied with. But
I
also look forward to getting a free air tool, can't ever have too many
tools.
